I don't often admit to being behind the times...
But I have to admit I just joined the tech world on signing up for and downloading Skype! This is a great resource for those who have relatives and friends in far flung places! And lets face it...Who doesn't have family somewhere they wish they could "see" more often? I was about to test-drive it with a friend of mine at UCONN but realizing him studying for a test may be a bit more important we decided to 86 that idea... I was left bummed when I had a genious idea! I know my downstairs apartment neighbor has a web cam... Maybe we should skype!? we tried it out and it was WAY easier then I thought... I am definitely a convert and hey...maybe if you become one too after reading this...you'll add me on Skype and we can start catching up...whether you are 3,000 miles away or...maybe just one floor down below!

The Wedding Singer!
Sometimes I think as college students we forget how important our family is...we drive 30 minutes or 3 hours away and settle into our dorms or apartments and are ready to be "on our own" yes we call home and ask to have 2o bucks in our account to order dominos...and go home to do our laundry for free...but do we take the time to spend with our family when your home? Some of us say yes... I have dinner with my parents or drop my sibling off at a friends house when I'm home. But now that we are in college...going towards 21 and truly being "adults" do you stop and think about our aunts and uncles...grandparents and our parents are on the same level as us? They are people who have fun and maybe even know how to party? This weekend I went to a wedding at the NE Aquarium in Boston and remembered how much fun it is just to be surrounded by family!

A Happy "Adult?" Couple!
(I'll admit I actually tried sangria in front of my grandparents--pretty gross!)
