I'm the kind of girl who likes things a certain way...perfect. It's not that I don't do things wrong. I do that all the time. This also amuses my mom when I call her to complain about what went wrong or who is currently making me mad. So today when I called to tell her I needed a name for my blog, and I want it to be clever... she laughed. I ran a couple ideas by her and we settled on Let her eat cupcakes-- a play on words for marie antoinette because my middle name happens to be the same as hers... Well... sort've... Once when I was very little, perhaps 3rd grade, we were doing our first day of school work sheets... first name....last name...middle name. as everyone wrote ashley or marie... I went to write mine but could not spell it. This led to an embarrassing trip to the my school secretary to find out something that seemed simple enough to figure out. I memorized my middle name and from that day always knew without asking anti-onette as a phonetic way to remember. While setting up this blog...I went to write my middle name but had a total brain freeze on how to spell my middle name... dumb moment but texted my mom and when she texted back antionette I typed it into google. When google came back with did you mean "ANTOInette" I was confused. I had always thought my family was just giving my dad a hard time when they poked fun at him for spelling my somewhat odd name on my birth certificate...but no, they meant it. &&then were just too baby-excited to go back and change it after they got my birth certificate in the mail. Sometimes you can't make everything perfect, and when that happens, you've just got to laugh.
