I don't really feel like being here right now.

My best friend Whitney and I LOVE explodingdog.com. We are always excited when new drawings come out and have often tried to email in our ideas for pictures. This has never quite worked out for us and while we always love to see others creativity with phrases to be drawn...we have always want to see a little bit of ourselves up there! This, my social media friends, is where twitter comes into play! we both follow @explodingdog so we know when pictures are updated... over the past two weeks or so we have submitted phrases and actually had them chosen to be drawn for the site! who would have thought 140 characters would be the best way to chat with celebrities both big and small... Here is the drawing for my phrase submission... feel free to make it your desktop background :]

So whether you think you are ready to take the plunge into the twitterverse or not... make an accnt now and start tweeting...you never know who you might connect with!

oh the perils of a college student!

I love blogging. I really do. I love to get my voice out there and be able to get my opinion heard. However there are some things I don't like... 12 page papers, end of semester projects before finals. You know... A girls trying to be a blog queen here and professors....you are not making it any easier!

Regardless... two weeks left in the semester and I'll be up on my social media all over again! and will try to squeeze some KatrinaAntionette goodness in there during my study breaks as well!

Thank a Veteran Today!

I'm usually not one for the wicked humor but... I think this is an important one.

"If you don't stand behind our troops, Please feel free to stand in front of them".

Veterans day is more then a day off from school or work, or a day to complain about NOT having off from school or work. It is about finding a special Veteran or Active Duty Military Member and showing them respect for defending our country whether you support this war or not. It's as simple as to just say thank you, or sending a friendly smile to a member of our Armed Services. And remember that they keep you safe, so you have the right to have this day off...or complain about working. ;]

My Pop, My Hero.

Thank you to my Pop-Pop, My Uncle Al, My Cousin Justin, and Friend, Mason!

These are a few of my favoriteee things!

Okay- from now till the end of the Holidays Sundays are "Thankful Sundays"...I'm sure your thinking... shouldn't it be "Thankful Thursdays?" the answer is for semantics sake yes...but time wise? I have class all day and work all night on weekdays....so no. This blog has Thankful Sundays! Sweet!

So today's Thankful Sunday all started with foodgawker.com. On Saturday I went with a friend to the mall and then saw This is it. Movie was great but food is just too expensive at the theatre! We went to the late show and when I got home at midnight I was starving but way too lazy to make anything, but then unfortunately stumbled upon foodgawker...it was FoodPorn at its best...great pictures of yummy desserts and food that was all pretty simple and great looking...all made by regular people! After following all the yummiest bloggers-- It inspired me to pass on take out for sunday and to make a great dinner and banana bread for dessert... deeelish!

My Weirdo Favorite-- Dr. P and Lemon :]
Mmmm!

Homemade Barbecue Chicken Pizza!

Mmm homemade Irish Nachos....just like at dysarts!
Served with sour cream just like the pro's

Heart-Shaped Banana Bread
with a little cinnamon and nutmeg in the mix...
mmm at the holidays! <3

An Open Letter to Maine.

Dear Maine,

I guess I don't have any right to complain. I am not a resident of this state and New Hampshire, My State, does support Marriage Equality effective January 1st. I canvassed for No on 1, I saw firsthand the amazing passion behind a movement for equality. Maine, for the first time in a long time made national news and had the whole world watching, we had the opportunity to become a trendsetter for the nation as a whole. Students and their teachers were using there time off for "Volunteer Vacations" to support the cause. I walked all around Orono, ME with a student from Colorado...who was not here for a relaxing trip to the coast or on his way to better places, he spent his week here ready to work. Sam & I went door to door, to encourage volunteerism and sign up residents to receive Absentee Ballots that normally would not vote. I didn't know much about referendum votes before this election, but I'm telling you this: It is nothing like your local city election, yes all elections are important and every vote matters....but on this vote there is are no "winners" and "losers". When any person will be left with a dated "seperate but equal" rule...we all lose, and no one should be celebrating.

To those that canvassed, phone banked, and took to your facebooks or twitter, Thank you. I've never been so proud of people working together to make something happen. &although the voters of maine did not decide in favor of equality, keep up the conversations, and we will all fight to make Marriage Equality a reality for Maine.

I don't often admit to being behind the times...

But I have to admit I just joined the tech world on signing up for and downloading Skype! This is a great resource for those who have relatives and friends in far flung places! And lets face it...Who doesn't have family somewhere they wish they could "see" more often? I was about to test-drive it with a friend of mine at UCONN but realizing him studying for a test may be a bit more important we decided to 86 that idea... I was left bummed when I had a genious idea! I know my downstairs apartment neighbor has a web cam... Maybe we should skype!? we tried it out and it was WAY easier then I thought... I am definitely a convert and hey...maybe if you become one too after reading this...you'll add me on Skype and we can start catching up...whether you are 3,000 miles away or...maybe just one floor down below!

Skype Me™! Set up that Webcam and lets start a conversation!
